Our political activity had slowed down considerably during this school year, but we are gearing up again for some participation. Again, as last year, we helped out with some sign waving at the annual Tax Day Rally on Friday, the 15th. Last year, there were over 300 people there, but this time only around 70 or so. I was there briefly waving an American flag before leaving for my birthday lunch. My girls and two of their friends waved their signs used last year as seen above. Farmer Girl is there behind her sister. Her sign read, "Give me Liberty, not Debt". As it lay on the ground before the rally, one man thought it said, "Give UP Liberty....". He said that person was at the wrong rally. :) On Monday, those on the other side, had their own rally with disturbing signs that said things like "Make Them Pay". Who exactly are "THEM"?
We are looking forward to helping out in the months to come locally and looking forward to next year's elections too!
