I wanted to share a little story with you all that gave us a great laugh this weekend. We went on some errands to get away from flooring Saturday afternoon. Bob needed to give his back a break and it felt good to get away. We loaded up the truck with recyclables for the dump, stopped at Costco for a lunch of samples (they had quite a variety due to upcoming Superbowl), and stopped at a friends for some heavy duty paper to protect our flooring while working. They had this HUGE roll, excess from the local paper mill, and we couldn't have begun to move it onto the truck. We decided to just take some of it. We began unrolling it from the HUGE roll and rolling into another roll to take home. The Scribbler was given the task of taping it up. Her dad had in mind that one piece would do the trick. She, being a perfectionist, decided more would be better. Farmer Girl began to help her. A few moments later, she came away, stating, "She called me a moron." We looked aghast at The Scribbler with questioning in our eyes and on our lips. She was just flabbergasted. She said, "No, I didn't....I said, 'We didn't need any more on here.'" (Now you have to say this out loud to really get what was said because when she repeated it to us, she realized that it, in fact, did sound as if she had called her sister a moron!) She had been simply telling her that the roll didn't need any more tape or "any more on (moron) here". Farmer Girl thought she was saying to her that we didn't need morons here to help!
Anyway, we laughed hysterically. Perhaps you had to be there. We really needed a good laugh and it still brings a smile to my lips! I didn't REALLY think she would call her sister a moron! :)
Hope it brought a smile to your lips too.
Good night, Ellie~
