Scavenger Hunt

My baby turned 16 last week. Hard to believe she is all ready that old. For months, she and friends planned, what they deemed,  the "perfect party". Last Sunday, although not her exact birthday, we began the celebration with a scavenger hunt at our local Walmart. Teams were chosen by picking a variation of a pink color from a basket. Four teams of 5 to 6 people and their drivers who took the pictures then left the garden center at 4:25 with 90 minutes to complete their task list.  Farmer Girl was going to choose a team to participate with but instead picked a color that chose the team for her. She was the only girl in a team of guys. Also, one of our teams is not depicted because I don't have their pictures...
Our little town is small. Starting late on a Sunday runs the risk of finding everything closed up and the sidewalks rolled up. So you will see many teams in the same places although the rules only allowed for two items from the same location. Here is the list of 16 items.

A Cute Guy
A Cute Pink Outfit
An IPod
A cat
A tree
A car
A music album
Order a cup of whipped cream from a coffee shop
Something from her favorite city
A book
Nail Polish (a color she would like)
A purse
The thing that gave her a concussion
Sticky notes
Someone with an occupation that she would like
Something she would like

This team's pick on the "cute guy"
Some of the teams had difficulty with finding a guy
who was willing to participate or get their pictures taken. Perhaps they were afraid it would show up on Facebook or on someone's blog?

This team found a willing baby that is definitely a very "cute guy"!

When desperate? Choose a headless mannequin!
Three teams chose the same "pink outfit".
I told you our town was limited in offerings!

We considered giving bonus points if they WORE the outfit.

Same store, different outfits.
Two were unbeknownst that they chose same one to model!
Most teams actually found a cat,
but this team thought outside the box and found some CAT vehicles and a Catwoman!

The tree choices were rather mundane, but this one was made a bit more interesting
with the guy hanging upside down!

A car? Actually, a truck. At least two teams chose a truck over a car.
I liked this one since it looks like he is being runover or lifting it up!
One team chose a bright yellow Mustang. Quite nice.

I see Chicago, Madonna, and possibly Justin Beiber.
Not sure she would pick any of those....

Farmer Girl's team thought they had an advantage with her on their team. Unfortunately, it proved to be a handicap when it came to judging. She didn't want to give them an unfair advantage and didn't feel she could pick them although their pictures were great and they had a fantastic time.
At *$ (Starbucks) with their whipped cream.
With their barista outside White Cup.
Farmer Girl loves whipped cream and had often wondered if she could just order that from a coffee shop. She tried it once and it cost her less than a dollar so she added it to her list. Unfortunately, today's baristas were not feeling so generous and charged any where from $2 to $3. The price was not the same for any of the teams although two to three went to Starbucks.
Enjoying their whipped topping.
Farmer Girl said this was a bit awkward!
Eiffel Tower? Must be Paris as her favorite city!
Every team knew it well.
Mittens as her book. Another chose the Farmer's Almanac
Nail polish at Sally's. Black?
LOVE the cow purse at Goodwill!
Lots of purse choices at Ross.
Re-take!
They could only have two at Ross and they were over so did this at JCP.
Another concussion at the hands of the snowboard!
.....or is that a beheading?
Post it notes in honor of debate.
Aiming high with a career at McDonald's.
School was out so no pictures of teachers available.
Something Farmer Girl would like, but no one on the team liked it!
True and cute but a bit controversial.
. They decided she liked sleeping and clearance or sales.

This team knows her well too in choosing money as something she would like!

The first team arrived back at Walmart within an hour and waited on the others to arrive. Then everyone traveled to our home for the remainder of the party and the viewing of the pictures. I hope you have enjoyed viewing the ones I have and the fun they had. They all did great and had a great time. It is a privilege and an honor to spend time with all of these teens and it was a blessing to have them in our home helping to celebrate this milestone in Farmer Girl's life. Thanks to everyone that made it happen!.
