Happy 13th Birthday!

Farmer Girl turned 13 this last weekend. Hard to believe my baby is all ready a teenager! They grow up waaaaaay too fast. She is looking less and less like a Farmer Girl and more and more like a young lady too. This was an exciting week for her. It began with getting her ears pierced. :) Years ago, when her sister turned 13 and got her ears pierced, she cried and cried because she wanted hers pierced so badly too. We told her she was too young, but if she stopped biting her nails, we would consider it earlier than 13. Well, it wasn't until very recently, she discovered how lovely her nails would look if she left them alone. They were growing for a change and not bitten down to the quick. So, it wasn't any earlier, but she did meet the second requirement. She was a little wary of the pain and she does have a low pain tolerance, but she did great. She chose ruby posts since that is her birthstone.

She also spent some time up to the week before her birthday trying to decide on a weekend away with mom or a sleepover. I told her to wait on the sleepover when she could have it in our house. However, she wanted to go to Canada and we are waiting on passports still so......she chose the sleepover. She had it in the house, it was just unfinished! she invited about 10 girls and although some couldn't spend the night, they came for the evening. They had a great time doing hair and nails, dressing up, making videos, having talent shows and generally being silly and giggly. They enjoyed snacks as well pizza for dinner with cake and ice cream. Most were asleep by 1 AM or so, but some tried to make it all night. They lost the battle around 4 AM, I think........None of us had very much sleep. For breakfast, belgian waffles with strawberries and cream. NUMMY. Below, is a pic of them being silly and one of them being sleepy!

What a mess, but very memorable.
Hope it was happy, birthday girl!

Love, Mom and Dad~
