This is evidence of some progress on the house. The visible progress has really sloooooooowed down since plumbing has begun and that is going slowly too. Although, The Plumber spent about two weeks in the crawlspace, he did not accomplish as much as he hoped. However, that being said, we did pass our preliminary septic inspection (in case I failed to mention that earlier). To prepare for it, a very dear friend, climbed up on our roof with the very high and steep pitch, and filled all the tubes with water throught the vent. Once filled, it stayed in over night to allow for leaks to become visible. I think there were only some minor ones so we were ready for our inspection. However, due to some faulty information about something (the name fails me right now) in the laundry room, we did not pass. The Plumber had to climb up on the roof AGAIN and fill those same tubes after the changes were made. We passed that time! :) Also, that same week, the roofer came and began covering the roof in preparation for shingles.
The Tyvek is almost done in above pictures and the other one shows The Scribbler helping her dad, The Plumber, with the Vycor-moisture guard for around the windows. The other one just scares me! Too high up for me and he doesn't like it either! Of course, Farmer Girl begs to be let up there! (See the hose in the vent?)
That should get you up to date on the "before my trip" progress. More in the next few days for more recent progress.
Ellie~
