An Early Thanksgving
We celebrated a day of thanks on Saturday BEFORE Thanksgiving. We kind of decided last minute to do it, but were able to pull it off without too much trouble. Why? Because The Graduate was leaving on Sunday morning and would miss our traditional day on Thursday. I picked up a nice turkey on Tuesday, spending $25 to get it for .39/lb. I prepared our traditional Sweet Potato Casserole and Cranberry Relish days before and made the layered pumpkin pie. All that was left was the turkey, stuffing, gravy and yeast rolls. Our friends offered to bring mashed postatoes and the vegetable, green bean casserole, which made things much easier Saturday morning. Lunch was served around 1230, once all was ready and our friends had arrived minus two daughters-one still at college and the other visiting friends. It was a smaller than normal gathering, but interspersed with lively conversation, lovely fellowship, and heartfelt thanks. We are thankful for this opportunity to celebrate with friends and family twice this year!
