3-3-1

Soccer season began in full force on our return from the lake. Practice twice a week with a game or two every week as well. It's U-15 and the last fall season for our Farmer Girl unless she plays at the high school level. Right now, she is thinking she won't but she would like to coach some little guys and girls at the U-6 level. For now, we are enjoying the season with mild weather although occasional rain and sprinkles. They have been playing hard and improving every week. Their coach is the junior high soccer coach so he is well able to teach them. Their current wins are 3, losses 3 with one tie. They played a hard game last weekend and did well keeping them at only one goal for most of the game. However, it was a BIG game of defense and their defenses were weakened at the end of the game when the other team was able to score two more goals against our zero. I think just one goal might have rallied them but with only some close calls, it didn't happen. Their spirits were deflated, but they were encouraged (I hope) by their ability to hold them at only three goals. Farmer Girl defended well with some great kicks and her friend ran hard and exhibited some great moves. Only two more games until play-offs.  This is the first chance I have taken to take many pictures and I tried to focus on Farmer Girl and her friend, catching them in the action. It is difficult to watch the game when you are taking pictures and hard to see the big picture through a camera lens! Just enjoy the pictures following as if you were there as they are in order of the progress of the game.   Oh, one more thing: Farmer Girl is 15 and her friend, who often plays forward or even midfield, is number 10.
