Sign Waving

Our young Republicans participated in a sign waving for a congressman in our district this last week.  It was immediately following a debate against him and the Democratic incumbent for the last 34 years (he doesn't believe in term limits :)) That is him walking in front of them as he came out to say hello and thank us for our help. This has been just one thing we have done amongst a multitude of events during this political season.

It was a beautiful autumn day with the sun shining and the mountains in all their glory.  We also held signs and waved for the support of others in the tightly contested races for representatives in our district-one against an incumbent and one against a vacant spot left open due to retirement.  We have also supported a man who has twice run for governor, now running for the US Senate seat against the the number 4 Senator. It is neck and neck, but we are trying to make a difference because we care about our country and the direction it is heading.  Most of our young republicans are not even old enough to vote, but this has been an amazing experience as they get involved. I will tell you more about what has been happening in a series of posts but for now, please see this wonderful article written by a previous home schooler at  www.sequimgazette.com and scroll down to Home School Politics. After today, you might have to do a bigger search as their new issue comes out every Wednesday. I wish I knew how to link you directly there......Anyway, it gives an amazing recap of their involvement and their motivation, one of which is their concern for fiscal responsibility and their futures being mortgaged away!

Stay tuned for more!
Ellie~
