There are several reasons I have not written much lately. Namely, lack of time, but I wanted to share my to-do list with you all so you will understand.
*Finish picking out faucets, namely the kitchen (first I must decide if I want the faucets to match my light fixtures or does it really matter? However, if we have dark counters, I can't have the oil rubbed bronze like my lights, but should go with the brushed nickel so I really need to pick out counters too)
*Meet with lighting specialist to finalize placement and type of lights, fans, sconces, canned, pendant, chandelier. All ready decided most of them will be oil rubbed bronze except upstairs where the girls will be brushed nickel.
*Finish painting the house and touching up the trim
*contact the mason about our front pillars and his bid........
*contact the drywaller and insulation guy about getting on their schedule in October
*contact another drywaller for another bid, just to check and see!
*contact the "bug guy" to come spray for carpenter ants, etc.
*pick out range hood
*pick out range, fridge, dishwasher ......
*decide on trim, width, type, color etc
*pick out doors (fir, MDF, Masonite....)
*buy stain for the entryway (Bob's to-do says to sand and stain the entryway)
*complete my decision about door knobs and try and find the cheapest place to buy them!
*Help Bob order radiant floor panels, switches (do you know HOW MANY different kinds of switches there are out there? You can only imagine.....), radiant floor supplies, oh, and the doorbell, type, style, and ring tones!
*start thinking about paint colors for the interior
*sit down with Lowe's and pick out counters, weighing pros and cons.
*Also, decide on type of sink
*pick out tile for entry room, mudroom, master bath and girls room
*order and buy bamboo for upstairs
*make a trip to Lumber Liquidators to pick out hardwood floors
*help girls pick out new bedspreads and beds
*go to IKEA to look at beds etc
*sit down with cabinet guy and decide on specifics for those (we're thinking rustic hickory at this point)
In addition to the house stuff:
*deliver the last rooster to a gal about an hour away (the other three found homes all ready)
*call gal about calling for an English Country Dance (Jane Austen era) here, next spring
*find facility for above
*apply for passports
*Paint at ceramic studio with Farmer Girl (she started a plate there about 4 months ago and we have yet to return to finish!!)
*order a wireless networking module from phone company
*buy some reading glasses
*pick up the contacts I ordered last week
*decide about wisdom teeth extraction for The Scribbler
*make an appt for braces eval for Farmer Girl
*thank you gift for 4H leader
*Oh, finish 4H book for last meeting next week.
*Assemble packages for door prizes for our co-op assembly
*prepare for first class on Western Civilization at our co-op
*register The Scribbler for her PSAT's
And, of course, there is all the normal stuff: home school, band, AWANA, soccer practice and games, work one day a week and dog obedience class (that ends this week). Wanted to go to the State Fair, even have free tickets, BUT just don't see how we can do it. A day at the lake sounds best and is by far my first choice for something to do. Just one more day..........then I will be ready for fall to begin and feel ready to tackle all of the above. Hope you all can understand my lack of posting.....Really can't complain though. You should see Bob's to-do list! :)
Love Ellie~
