Eighteen!

My firstborn turned 18 last week. Amazingly hard to believe! Where did the time go?  She was born on a cold, dark day in December in Alaska, 15 days late. I was induced with Pitocin without any success one day. Bob being a nurse was allowed to take me home to return in the AM for another attempt at induction using a different drug. I can't remember the name.......BUT it worked. A mere nine hours later, my little girl came into the world at 8 pounds, 12 ounces. It was an easy first delivery and it has been easy to love and parent this daughter the Lord blessed us with eighteen years ago. She is a lovely young lady that we are very proud of and we look forward to seeing what God has in store for her!~
We baked a cheesecake for her, but also bought a carrot cake too.

Her big adventure was her trip in October to Atlanta for Endeavor (more about that later) so we celebrated with only a small affair here. Several years ago for her birthday, we celebrated with a movie showing of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."  Several friends attended with her and at the time, we commented that we should do this every year, thinking that the 7 movies would be made at a rate of one a year. Well, Walden Media didn't keep up with our schedule, so that didn't work. However, for her 16th we rented a large facility and did a movie showing of "Prince Caspian" on a big screen. This year it worked to do this for the newest C. S, Lewis movie, "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader." Afterwards, our very gracious friends offered their home for cake as it was closer than ours. It was a great movie and a lovely afternoon.

Another wonderful friend who you have seen before many times on this blog and who opened her home to party giving and who also gave up another social event to attend and support The Scribbler. Thanks!

The Scribbler and this friend have gotten to know one another much better this year and have had a lot of fun together.

Emma and Austen from our play last summer! We are so glad she could come!
I didn't get individual pictures of The Scribbler with each friend as I thought of it after several had left. I did get some group shots BUT they are blurry.
Sister and friend relaxing on the couch.

The blurry group shot of everyone playing a game. They are a great group of friends and she is very fortunate and blessed to have them in her life. Thanks for coming girls!
She is very blessed to have so many wonderful, dependable, loving friends. I am so glad we are surrounded by such a great group of Godly young women!

Happy Birthday!
We love you, Scribbler!
