Farmer Girl (the tall one in the orange bandana in the above picture) is playing Girls Soccer again this year, her second year in U-15. Last year, she felt a bit out of her league as most of the girls had been playing for MANY years and this was their last. They were good and very competitive. Fortunately, for her, she learned a lot and they went on to win the U-15 Girls championship. This year, she is at it again, but with a younger team as well as a good friend. Their season is nearing its end, with only one more regular season game left, and possible play offs. Their record is 2-3-1 so not doing stellar, but they are improving and learning to play well together. They started out with 15 players, but only about 11 come out for practice and the games as many of them have other committments like volleyball. They are doing something different this year with the all girls teams. There is only one in our town and 4 in one nearby. Normally, they would play the co-ed teams too, but instead that are not doing that, but are playing 8 on 8 on a modified field. The game is shorter but more intense with more running and playing for everyone. I think they like it, but miss playing the co-ed teams too. Their coach is great and very friendly. (her daughter plays on the team too). Below are some pictures from last Saturdays game. Farmer Girl was up against a pretty intense young girl who played well, but sometimes at the expense of poor sportsmanship like shoving, pushing, elbowing etc......Farmer Girl is seen below trying to keep on her whilst playing fair and avoiding the elbow!

Whoa, maybe I will stay out of this one!
Below is a great picture of Farmer Girls' good friend, Ripstick Girl, as well as soon to be goalie extraordinaire. I admire her for taking on this position. I could never have done it. She had a great block this last week, using her BARE hands. The other team's coach gave our coach some gloves for her. I am sure that helped a great deal! You can see them on her hands as well as that great big grin on her face. She looks like her dad, "electrician extraordinaire" :) We are so glad they were able to play another season together.
