The Money Pit

This was the mess that Farmer Girls room until recently. Now things are progressing past the painting stage. We had to buy MORE paint and she even threw in a FREE quart of Bouncy Bouncy (orange). We called it 'good enough' although there are some parts that could use some touch up or another coat. We think we have thrown enough money into this "money pit" though. She is happy and most of it will be covered with art, curtains etc. We still have not painted the inside of the closet, but are checking the OOPS paint at Home Depot hoping to find a deal in a color she likes. Perhaps lime green?
Farmer Girl taping above her closet. Doesn't the closet look like a cave with that dark primer?
This is her wall sconce that will eventually hang over her window seat when it is built. We are trying to convince her to change it out for a track with 3 lights. The lighting in her room is not as bright as we thought or hoped. Might have something to do with color choices, but she has LOTS of natural light.

She also chose a ceiling fan that, although modern, doesn't put out much light. This is the room at its considered done point as far as painting. Bob still needs to wrap the beam with some pine or something, but that will probably be one of the last things done. Now it matches her closet!

And this is where we started today with the #15 felt all ready stapled in place and the bamboo laid out and ready for installation. Will show you the progress next time. It's looking good though! Once it is done, Bob can install the heater-a hydronic wall heater- and she could almost move in!

Good night and Happy New Year! Ellie~

  1. Stevie has the same colors in her room, along with lime green and purple, ( just not on the walls) I think the dark primer is the reasons the paint didn't cover well. But it looks good from here. Love you all and Happy New Year, will call tonight or tomorrow. Going to Mom's
