When Bill and I married (19 years ago tomorrow!), we registered for and received "everyday" dishes. They were very simple-creamy white with a blue trim. They were very nice and we used them for over a dozen years. In fact, we still have most of them , although they are packed away. At one point, we decided to splurge on a new set of MOOSE dishes for the interim(until we had a house and picked dishes for it) and for a change. They were not nearly as expensive and have served their purpose wonderfully. HOWEVER, I have had my eye on this cute little melamine set at Costco for a couple months. I loved the print and the square plates. They are really fun as the plates are all different colors too. So.....The Chef surprised me with two sets yesterday for Mother's Day!! Aren't they cute? We had our first meal on them last night--hamburgers and fries! Perfect. They are dishwasher safe which is nice, but handwashing is recommended. That is perfect too as that is all we have here anyway in our small space.
