More Progress

Walls keep going up at an amazing rate. It has been so nice to see the progress and exciting too. I know, once framed, things will seem to come to a standstill as the plumbing and electric are installed.
This wall, the westside, was our third wall and it was cool to watch as they used the chains and the machine to hoist it into place on Tuesday. Below is Farmer Girl posing in the window of our mudroom/laundry/craft room.

This wall was next and this is the view out my kitchen window. It is so neat to walk around and imagine where everything will be and to look at the lighting and the views. Once done, we are planning a nice lawn and patio here. The Chef would love an outside grilling/cooking area too. I would love a porch swing at one end of the covered porch too. Many of you know how much I love a porch swing :)
This was the progress as of last night. You can see the weather improved from earlier in the week. The ground has dried up, but now the ruts made in the mud have turned into cement! One extreme to another. At this point, all the walls were up except for the end in the vaulted living room. You can see the pointed arch laid out on the floor ready for Friday morning.
Unfortunately, we missed the building and lifting of this wall as we were gone all day. However, it is exciting to come home, not knowing what the progress will be. It is always fun to come around the driveway, not knowing what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised as the wall was up as well as some interior walls. Others are marked and ready for installation on Monday morning. :) The view below is looking into the corner of the Master Bedroom. That far corner is our walk in closet with the bath next o it. Two of those three windows in a row will be in the bedroom with one in the closet which seems kind of weird, but I was thinking of outside look. The large single 4 x 4 is our bathroom window above the tub. AND, on the floor, another wall waiting patiently..........
The view from the backyard, coming from the chicken coop, of the progress made this week. Next week: second floor!
Good night, Ellie~
