106?

103? 106? These are unheard for temperatures for our neck of the woods, but that is the steamy temps we have been dealing with this week in the Pacific Northwest. Records were broken for Seattle, where I think in 1994 the record high had been 100, but hit 103 on Wednesday. It has been lovely weather for water activities, but not so good for building ones. My girls were able to sneak away to the marina with friends one day as well as hitting the beach later that same day with our houseguest. Then The Scribbler headed off for the day with friends to play at another beach while Farmer Girl played at a friends in their small pool. I have to tell you, I was envious. It looked so refreshing........ Then we took the dogs to the river yesterday. The water temperature, which is normally close to frigid, was, surprisingly, just right. I got in up to my thighs, but the dogs as well Farmer Girl were completely immersed. Hope to go there more next week. It's in town and convenient so nice for a quick stop.
Fortunately, Friday morning brought us cooler temps that were more normal and some morning fog, typical for this time of year. It usually burns off by noon or so, and it did. Same thing happened this morning, but now the sun is blazing. This summer in the northwest has been wonderfully warm and has spoiled us for more :) Hope you are enjoying your weather wherever you are too!

Love, Ellie~
