16 Weeks

Griffin is growing by leaps and bounds. He is getting so handsome and looks so noble. He is such a good dog, learning quickly and obeying well. He has mastered "sit" and does really well walking on his leash two to three times a day. Starting to work on come and lay, but those are a bit harder. He did great at camp and had a nice routine going. He loved all the children at camp although they spoiled him, responding to his every bark or adorable "puppy dog eyes" look. Most of the time, he sits just like this, only looks at you and doesn't bark or jump up until we talk to him.
Before camp, he finished his parvo shots as well as was treated for worms, fleas (of which he had none), heartworm and weighed in at about 25 pounds. This week, he got his rabies shot and, after only two weeks, he weighed 32 pounds!
The Scribbler took him to Puppy Class this week. For a while, he was the only one there. He sat so obediently and did very well with the training. It was neat to watch what he would do without her saying a word, but only giving him treats or making him think he was getting one! THEN, Honey, the labradoodle arrived. She barked at him and jumped at him. The instructor worked with him a bit. Turns out he is quite the handful. The Scribbler was very proud of Griffin's behavior, but I told her not to gloat or get prideful about him. She has been working with him quite a bit, so it was some nice positive reinforcement for all her work. Later, Griffin was invited to attend their instructor training classes next week as a loaner dog! We thought that was pretty cool and the neatest thing is that he will get to paint!!! We can't wait to see how they teach him that and how he does. We will post his creations for sure.
Anyway, that is the progress report on wonder puppy. Just kidding. He has been so much fun to have around and we really love him.
