Memorial Day Memories

Many years ago, we spent Memorial Day Monday at this same beach with these same friends and, I think, with this same weather! :) We had a lovely time, ambling down the beach, taking time to chat or take pictures, or to set a spell. We climbed on logs and slippery rocks, making new memories to go with the old.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch, albeit chilly, of chicken salad, sub sandwiches, potato salad, watermelon, grapes, chips and more. We hope you enjoy our picture album of fun at the beach.

Our dog had a blast and walked three times the distance with all his climbing and running in and out of the surf.

The Jenna Kiss

The gang minus one (she took the picture). We were headed to a place called "hole in the wall". You can only access it at low tide though. The last time we timed it right and walked through it to the other side.
Farmer Girl and friend had a blast dodging water and waves. They were soaked. (I started to write, "soaked with very wet water....." Is there any other kind of water?)! It was fun to watch them although I never felt like joining them.
Bracing for the wave and running away!

LOVE this expression!

Cute shot!

Hurrah!

Run Awaaaaaaaaay!

He chose to avoid the water although some waves he did not escape. He must remember his encounter with them last year.

A girl and her dog can never be separated. We walked 5 miles. I think he walked 10 or more!

We built a fire thus the soot camouflage all over their arms and faces!
After traveling back to where we started, they got more serious about getting wet since towels, warmth and dry clothes were close at hand when necessary. I was a little worried about the current pulling them out, but they had a blast. You can tell by their expressions!

We headed home around 5 PM. The day started out a bit chilly and misty, but it improved and ended up being rather nice, with peaks of sun off and on. It didn't rain on us so we shouldn't have gotten wet although some of us CHOSE to get wet. We also stayed warm enjoying our 5 mile hike to the "hole". It was a great time and a great way to spend the day with friends. Thanks for coming with us!

Love, Ellie~
