Growing Up

The Scribbler turned 16 this last year in late December. Last week, she took her driving test and passed with a score of 98!! She took drivers ed last summer with several friends including one who was her driving partner. After 50 hours of drive time they are allowed to take their test. It took her a bit longer to achieve this milestone for a variety of reasons (at the top of the list is probably mom's reluctance to see her grow up so fast!!) Anyway, she now is a certified driver and very happy to have her drivers license.
I have only let her drive all by herself once so far and even then she dropped me off at a friend's house in town, completing the trip to the coffee shop by herself. It was the weirdest feeling to watch her drive away at the wheel with no one else in the car! She did great and enjoyed time with friends, who also have their licenses, drinking blended coffees/chais, comparing cell phones, snapping photos and celebrating their friendships and their achievements--one step closer to adulthood! :( I'm so proud of her. She is blossoming into a lovely, Godly women and I love her very much. Congratulations, Scribbler!
